The Harriet is a live video storage system for the Quantel Paintbox with a storage capacity of 323 PAL frames. It has no audio facility. It was designed for use with the V-Series Paintbox and can also be connected to the Classic Paintbox by way of a 601 interface unit.

The Harriet system comprises of the Paintbox and the additional 3U unit, the Ramcorder, two 601 cables and a control cable.

To enable the Harriet to function a password and appropriate software are required for the V-Series. The Classic Paintbox requires no alterations and the system will function directly with the Ramcorder.

The system will enable the operator to randomly access any one of the 323 frames, modify it and then return it to the store. Full VTR control is enabled with pre-roll, time select and record.
