Printbox is a complete on-line page production system that controls all aspects of page processing from input scanning, image manipulation, processing, colour correction, retouching, page layout to output scanning. The system has been designed to provide the maximum throughput of images for processing and page layout with very high image quality. To achieve high throughput speeds , many processes are performed in parallel or as background tasks.

The Printbox, the Scan Manager and Courier control all peripheral activities including input scanning, archiving and the transfer of images for page make-up.
