You have linked through to the old Effect Web Site. Please click Here to go to the new site.DLS 6000/1Introduced in 1980, the Library DLS6000/1 was a new generation of equipment for electronically storing television pictures. A standard Winchester type computer disc was used as memory, rather than the then conventional method of 35mm slides. When multiple disc drives are used ,thousands of pictures can be stored , extending to an infinite number when using removable media cartridges. The Library met the demand of broadcasters who required a reliable replacement for slide scanners. The DLS6000/1 provided this alternative with additional facilities including rapid, random access to the entire content of the library, special effects, a powerful and flexible operational control systems as well as the ability to record pictures from any video source. The disc drives used are either 160, 330, RSD or the newer high capacity Seagate Sabre disc drives which record 735Mb.
